  • I’m really satisfied with the portion here. It consists of fried rice, a side of ramen, and a plate of gyoza that totally lives up to the “King of Toshu” hype. The fried rice was perfectly smoky and the gyoza had that satisfying golden crunch on the bottom. It’s the kind of reliable, salty comfort food you crave after a long day, and for about 1,200 yen, I think it’s quite understandable.

Notes

  • Unlike many fast-food spots, they are quite proud of their gyoza. You can often find limited-time versions, and they even sell them frozen to take home. Regulars swear by mixing their own dipping sauce with a heavy amount of vinegar and pepper rather than just soy sauce.
  • It’s known for being one of the most reliable spots in the area to get a massive amount of calories without breaking a student budget.
