  • Ajidokoro Marutaka – Fresh, Hearty Seafood Bowls Loved by the Community
Before the class, we stopped by Ajidokoro Marutaka, a long-trusted local eatery just a short walk from Keio SFC. The restaurant has a warm, down-to-earth atmosphere—simple wooden tables, the hum of regular customers, and the comforting feel of a place that has been part of the neighborhood for years.
This time, my friend and I ordered the binchō-maguro toro-don and the maguro kiriotoshi-don.
The moment the bowls arrived, the freshness was unmistakable. The toro-don has a melt-in-your-mouth texture, rich but never heavy, while the kiriotoshi-don offers firmer cuts with a clean, satisfying tuna flavor. Both bowls come with generous portions of sashimi placed beautifully over perfectly seasoned rice. For the quality, the pricing is more than student-friendly—great for anyone looking for a proper, filling meal after practice.
Marutaka sources fresh seafood directly from the market, and you can feel that commitment in every bite. It’s the kind of place that local students and long-time residents alike keep coming back to. If you’re around Shonandai and craving a bowl packed with freshness and comfort, Ajidokoro Marutaka is an easy recommendation.
